We are looking for more cadets to fill the final 2 teams. Events to include floor hockey, basketball, volleyball, and the cadet physical fitness assessment. Lunch will be provided. Cadets are to be at Trenton High School for 0830hrs. Lunch will be provided. Time of completion will be 1630hrs (4:30PM). Dress is appropriate sports shorts with Exertion t-shirt, or squadron t-shirt if participating on composite team. Saturday April 29th - Sunday April 30th
Unfortunately due to scheduling conflicts and getting supplies from Detachment, we have decided to cancel our Spring Field Training Exercise (FTX). Instead we have decided to turn our base tour day into a weekend activity. Activities to included tour of the control tower, fire hall tour, and static tour of a C17 aircraft. Cadets will be sleeping overnight at Trenton Cadet Training Centre. We may stay overnight on Friday as well. Timings to be determined. Cadets are to sign-up by this Wednesday 29th March so we can properly coordinate accommodations and meals. The band will be performing on Tuesday March 28th at the monthly meeting for 418 Wing (Belleville) Royal Canadian Air Force Association. Cadets are to be downstairs at the Belleville Shrine Club at 51 Highland Ave, Belleville, ON K8P 3R2. Cadets are to be there for 1830hrs (6:30PM). Cadets are more than welcome to stay the evening but performance should be complete by 1930hrs (7:30PM). Dress will be winter dress.
418 Wing (Belleville) Royal Canadian Air Force Association is an official sponsor for the Squadron and a strong supporter of the band program. Last year they donated a $1000 cheque for the band. Note: The Armouries will be open at 6:00PM for cadets to grab instruments. Saturday April 22nd 2017
Mark your calendars as the band and Drill Without Arms Team will be competing against other Sea, Army, and Air units in the Eastern Ontario Area (EOA). Timings to be determined. This is our first year submitting a band and we will be entering the 'junior' band category to introduce us to the competition style. Deduction points will not be issued and we will not advance to provincials. Feedback will be given back based on our performance. Despite recent weather conditions, the trip is still on. Precautions will be made to detour near Mallorytown if the 401 is still closed. Navigation through the downtown core will be tricky. Weather is forecasted to be cloudy to sunny for Thursday and Friday. We have been assured by Franklin Coach Lines that we are getting a very good, experienced driver.
