VIRTUAL CADET SUMMER TRAINING COURSES

14/4/2021

  1. Virtual Cadet Training Centre Courses have been posted to Corps/Squadron in Fortress.
  2. Information for each of the Qualification & Non-qualification courses (description, element, duration in weeks, days per week, hours per day) are available for public access at: https://www.canada.ca/en/department-national-defence/services/cadets-junior-canadian-rangers/cadets/summer-training/summer2021/virtual-cadet-summer-training.html
  3. Cadets can only take one course at a time (i.e., they can't take a six week course at the same time as a 3-week course; however, they can take a 2-week course, followed by a 3-week course as long as they do not overlap).
  4. Cadets may apply, and possibly be selected, for multiple courses; however there are limited billets available so it is important for cadets to identify preferences and COs to identify priority.
  5. Application Deadline is 30 April 2021, at which time cadets will be selected or placed on standby for their desired course(s); note that standby cadets can be loaded up to 1-week prior to the start date of a course.
  6. All cadets (selected or standby) will receive a Cadet-365 account; as such, it is important that the Fortress contact information includes a distinct individual email address (can't be shared amongst multiple cadets in a family) and phone number (required for authentication purposes).
  7. All virtual courses will require an internet connection, and device to complete the training on.

CAP JOINING INSTRUCTIONS (UPDATED)

11/4/2021

1.      We have received an update that due to technical issues with the CCO File Repository Portal (Extranet), that it will not be an option for this upcoming week for CAP delivery. Although this created an impact, it is minor in nature and the team has developed a solution. You may have received some feedback from the corps and squadrons regarding issues creating accounts on the CCO Portal; this resolves that problem.

2.      Good news, the cadets will no longer need an account for the CCO Portal. The CAP content will now be hosted using an alternative public facing repository.

3.      The Joining Instructions have been amended with the updated links.
