DISTRIBUTION OF FIELD TRAINING UNIFORM (FTU) FOR AIR CADETS

20/7/2020

As mentioned in the 2020 Campaign Plan, we are taking the opportunity of the current situation to recapitalize our material.  This will allow all Air Cadets to receive a Field Training Uniform (FTU).  However, while Public Health Measures remain to combat the spread and transmission of the COVID-19 virus, we are requesting your help to provide us with the measurements required to place the orders. In order to do that, we are asking you to consult the attached measuring guide and respect the instructions below. Please return the attached form completed as soon as possible.

TECHNICAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR INDIVIDUALS TAKING MEASUREMENTS

- This form should be completed with the assistance of an adult.

- Individuals being measured should remove bulky items such as wallets/cell phone from their pockets.

- They should NOT stand at the “ATTENTION” position.

- All measurements should be taken close but NOT TOO TIGHT due to slight grow.

BLACKDOWN VIRTUAL SUNSET ASSISTANCE REQUEST

6/7/2020

I am reaching out to you all today to see if we can obtain some assistance with the virtual sunset ceremony that was initiated back in late April 2020.

As you may be aware, we have had a number of Officers and Cadets working on a Virtual Sunset for Blackdown CTC for the last little seven weeks.  To that end, we have noted that we are coming up a little bit short on video submissions for the music portion of the Virtual Sunset.  The team leads have been working with the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo (RNSIT) to create these videos (3 separate musical arrangements) and it would be important that we keep them engaged as a long term partner wit our organization.

What we are looking for is to see if you could you to pass along the following information to your local units in an effort to have any and all cadets that are musicians (cadets that have attended Intermediate or Advanced Music Courses) that may have an interest in participating in this Virtual Sunset.:
Cadet Participants:
  1. Should have completed at minimum, Basic Musician Courses, with the preference being they have completed Intermediate or Advanced Music Courses, including being selected for 2020 music training in Pipes and Drums or Military Band.
  2. Dress for the video performance is their respective elemental summer training uniform
  3. Musical arrangements and sample music can be found on the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo website
    1. a. Link as follows: https://nstattoo.ca/neil-lester-tribute/
  4. Completed performances can be submitted to the link and all instructions are found in the page.
  5. Video performances will be reviewed by the Blackdown CTC team and RNSIT.
Any assistance you can provide our team with this project is greatly appreciated since we are on a very short fuse timewise and we need to have video submissions by 8 Jul 2020.  This is a great opportunity to showcase the musical talents of our cadets and any additional cadet participation would be valuable.  The final video production will be approximately 20 minutes long and will be ready mid August.

Thank you in advance for your assistance and if there are any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Regards
