Just to clarify the Dress instructions referenced here are for CAF/CIC mbrs and come into effect on 6 Sep.

DIs for cadets are pending. In that regard, CANCDTGEN 011/22 speaks to the cadet portion of DI changes. In this case the existing Dress Instructions remain in effect with updates IN PROCESS and PENDING - with the exception of the following:

1. This CANCDTGEN provides additional direction for Cadet Organizations Administration and Training Service (COATS) members and cadets with regards to the release of the amended Canadian Armed Forces Dress Instructions (CAF DI) as per reference A.
   • With respect to cadets, the Cadet and Junior Canadian Rangers Dress Instructions (CJCR DI) are undergoing final amendments in order to align with the newly revised CAF DI’s, and will be released shortly. In the interim, effective 06 September 2022 all gender references currently found in reference B are no longer in effect. This includes, but is not limited to, all gender references found within the descriptions of appropriate hair, jewellery, and body adornment standards. All gender specific personal appearance reference images found in Chapter 2 of reference B, will remove all gender reference and may apply to any cadet.

Again direction is clear. WRT cadets, new dress instructions - the existing instructions remain in effect. Changes are coming but have not yet been published. Cadets are to following existing regs until new instructions come into effect.

Just a reminder that mask protocols remain in effect. Specifically,

Wearing of masks:

a. CAF regs (CIC / COATS, CIs, Reg F and P Res pers) will remain subj to CDS direction (masks to be worn in all common and public areas),

b. Cadets and volunteers will follow the requirements established by the facility or the applicable provincial / territorial health regs,

c. Cadets will not therefore not require masks outdoors, and indoors only at DND / Federal facilities (including DND veh, aircraft and vessels) or as otherwise required by a facility owner / operator.
