What an AMAZING weekend we had at CFB Trenton for the Leadership Weekend!!!
Our DUKES thoroughly enjoyed the Control Tower, the Gymnasium, the pool and especially THE FLIGHT SIM, plus the other activities we did!!! Thank You to Lt Heath for arranging the Leadership Weekend and Lt[N] Miller, A/SLt Leadbeater and MCpl Brace for all your support! Our next training night will consist of regular classes. IT IS NOT A SPORTS NIGHT!!! We will also have two sign-up sheets on Wednesday; > Gliding day Sign-Up > Poppy Day Sign-Up GLIDING DAY - SATURDAY 5 NOVEMBER 2011 This year, our squadron is very lucky that we have received two Autumn Gliding Days (for a total of three Gliding Days this year), rather than the usual single Gliding Day. This Gliding Day will run the same way as our previous Gliding Day in October;> Parents must transport their cadets TO and FROM CFD Mountainview. > Please Sign-Up Wednesday night for the time you prefer (0900 hrs - 1230 hrs OR 1230 hrs - 1600 hrs). > The Sign-Up sheet will be posted on the rolling white board at the entrance. > Temperatures on the Airfield are often quite cool and windy and Temperatures in the glider are much colder. Please Dress Appropriately!! > Washrooms are available.> It may be a good idea to eat breakfast/lunch before arriving. > Bring your own water to drink. POPPY DAY - FRIDAY 4 NOVEMBER 2011 Poppy Day is similar to Tag Day where Cadets will go to a store and hand out poppies to those in need (preferably for a donation). We are 'selling' poppies for the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 99 Belleville. "All poppy money collected by a Legion branch stays within that local community and pays for medical equipment, home services and long-term care facilities for ex-service people in need of financial assistance."
