Thank you to all Cadets who tagged this past weekend and the parents who drove them. It was cold and wet but we had a very successful weekend. The money we raised will help purchase equipment for our band programs and to offset costs for trips and training activities. Great job!
0748 hrs - The weather isn't looking too great. Please standby for gliding status as may get cancelled. Pilots are doing their checks now.
0849 hrs - At the moment, pilots are only able to take cadets up for familiar flights in the tow plane. 0937 hrs - ALL FLYING CANCELLED. FRI 23 OCT 15 - TAG DAY - Arrive at 1630 hrs (4:30 PM). Cadets to be paired up and stationed at retail entrances to fundraise for the Squadron. New recruits will be paired up with a more senior cadet. Parent volunteers needed to drive cadets to locations. Winter dress with parkas. Optional toque and gloves depending on weather. SAT 24 OCT 15 - TAG DAY - Morning shift - 0900 hrs - 1300 hrs. Afternoon shift 1400 hrs - 1800 hrs. Cadets that take part all day will be provided lunch. Winter dress with parkas. Optional toque and gloves depending on weather. SUN 25 OCT 15 - FALL GLIDING - Morning shift 0900 hrs - 1200 hrs. Afternoon shift 1200 hrs - 1600 hrs (4:00 PM). Cadets are responsible for arranging their ride to Mountain View Airport. Gliding order will be determined by a "first come, first serve" basis. Cadets are paired up with a trained pilot in a glider and go up for a flight. Wear warm civilian clothes. WED 28 OCT 15 - HALLOWEEN DRESS UP ACTIVITY NIGHT - Cadets to dress up in their best costumes. Fun activities planned for the evening! FRI 30 OCT 15 - BAND/DRILL PRACTICE - Band 1700 hrs - 1900 hrs (5:00 PM - 7:00 PM). Drill 1900hrs - 2000 hrs (7:00 PM - 8:00 PM). New recruits encouraged to join the band and/or the drill team. Appropriate civilian clothing.
SAT 31 OCT 15 - SUN 01 NOV 15 - OPERATION PUMPKIN PATCH FIELD TRAINING EXERCISE (FALL FTX) - Parent information letter. Starts at 0800 hrs Saturday - Finishes at 1600 hrs (4:00 PM) Sunday. Cadets encouraged to dress for winter. Costumes optional. WED 4 NOV 15 - COMMANDING OFFICER'S (CO'S) PARADE - Happens first Wednesday of every month. Dress is tunics with medals. FRI 6 NOV 15 - POPPY CANVASSING - 1700 hrs - 2100 hrs (5:00 PM - 9:00 PM). Cadets to be paired up and stationed at retail locations to hand out poppies to the population. Winter dress with parkas. Come wearing wedge. Bring toque and gloves. WED 11 NOV 15 - REMEMBRANCE DAY PARADE - Cadets to arrive at 0930 hrs. March to the Cenotaph and back to the armouries. Receptions will be held at The ANAF Duke of Edinburgh Unit 201, 187 Front Street, and at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 99, 132 Pinnacle St., after the ceremony. Cadets encouraged to go the receptions at parent/guardian's discretion. Dress is winter dress. Bring parka, gloves, and toque depending on weather. Drill team practice will start this Fri 16 Oct 15.
It was announced that timings will be 1900hrs - 2100hrs (7:00PM - 9:00PM). Instead it will run from 1900hrs - 2000hrs (7:00PM - 8:00PM) This Wednesday it's going to be a bit cool, so winter dress will be in effect.
