  • TRAINING

Wednesday 26 September will be a Regular Training night.
  1. Dress of the night is C-2B (Summer) Dress. 
  2. New recruits without a uniform should wear; Black Pants, White Collared Shirt, and Black Shoes. *If you do not have these items, you do not need to buy them as you will receive your uniform soon. Appropriate civilian clothing will suffice.*


  • SUPPLY

If you have any Uniform Items that need to be Exchanged, it is STRONGLY encouraged that you do so immediately! See the Supply Officer, on your own initiative, either before opening parade or during break!


  • ADMINISTRATION

REMINDER: Every Training Night is a MANDATORY attendance night.
If a cadet cannot attend a Training Night for a valid reason, the cadet MUST follow the instructions on the Attendance Notificationpage. 


ALSO, any cadets who have not completed and handed-in their Annual Basic Health Questionnaire MUST do so immediately or they will not be allowed to attend any cadet functions (including training nights). 


  • OTHER

On Wednesday 19 September approximately 40 of our cadets were promoted. Congratulations to all recipients!

  • TRAINING

Cadets who will be partaking in a Merit Review Board (MRB) are reminded to look over 13-02_Annex-B - Merit Review Board so they can be properly prepared for what is to come.  Also, Cadets Partaking in a MRB should wear their C-1 (Ceremonial) Dress. *Make sure uniform is in tip-top condition!*

2012 GLIDING DAY!!!

608 Dukes will be Gliding Sunday 16 September 2012 located at CFD Mountain View!

Cadets may choose one of two timings:
  1. Morning 0900-1230
  2. Afernoon 1230-1600

*You must pick a time and submit it by Wednesday (12 Sept) morning*



INFO FOR PARENTS

  • Parents will be required to transport their cadet(s) to and from CFD Mountain View.
  • Parents can either stay for the duration or come back at the end of their cadet's gliding time to take them home.
  • Sometimes, but only sometimes, Parents may be offered a flight.


INFO FOR CADETS

  • BRING WARM CLOTHING
  • BRING WATER BOTTLE
  • WEAR SUN SCREEN
  • WEAR HAT
  • BRING SOMETHING TO OCCUPY YOUR WAITING TIME

* Lawn chairs are optional.

* It is OFTEN windy and cool at the air field, make sure you plan ahead.

GLIDING IS TOTALLY DEPENDENT ON WEATHER CONDITIONS AND CAN BE CANCELLED AT ANY TIME DURING THE DAY
In case of bad weather an e-mail will be sent out from Capt Dixon and a notice will be posted on this page notifying "gliding is cancelled". Be sure to check Sunday morning for any status updates.

There will be a cell phone on location for Cadets to call parents if Gliding ends early due to weather.

FIRST NIGHT REMINDER

The First Night Back will be Wednesday 12 September 2012!

  • As this is a "welcome back" night filled with games, ice breakers, and sports, Cadets may wear their (appropriate) civilian clothing.
  • If you have any Uniform Items that need to be Exchanged, it is STRONGLY encouraged that you do so on this night. . 
  • This is also a great time to bring a friend, or two... or five, who want to become a duke! Just remind them they need their birth certificate, health card, and most of all; their parent/guardian.

GRAND OPENING OF MOUNTAIN VIEW'S NEW HANGAR

All Cadets and their parents/guardians are invited to the Grand Opening of the New Hangar at CFD Mountain View!!!!

It is an awesome structure.

The Ceremony will be Friday 7 September 2012 (this Friday) starting at 1400hrs.

The Honourable Peter McKay will attend.

We realize this is during the school/work day, however, if any Cadet is able to attend, please call Captain Dixon as soon as possible!

Cadets who attend are required to be in full C-2 (Winter) Dress and should arrive by 1300hrs.

* Capt Dixon will be able to transport 3 cadets. *
