NEWS
Check back often for the latest updates on news and information about upcoming squadron activities
All: Please find attached the summer 2021 edition of the RCSU-Central newsletter (“Messenger”), which includes numerous updates – including CAP, CCW/vCTC, J-35, J-6, air ops and attraction/retention – and other items of interest, including chaplain-related resources (page 23). It also includes our newly launched – since the spring edition – “Commentary and Perspectives” section (pages 15-21), which includes feature articles on leadership (Part 8), ethics and air/sea activities and training. Be sure to have a look at pages 24-25, where we have an ongoing challenge for all – but especially for our cadet correspondents (CC) – in helping us acquire action-oriented, reality-based imagery, which tells the cadet story for our various communications products (e.g. newsletter) and platforms (e.g. Facebook and Instagram). Please share the newsletter with other stakeholders who may not be on our standard DWAN/CCO dist lists. As with previous newsletters, area OCs and others are asked to consider printing out hard copies for placement in office lobby areas (realizing that some staff are still working virtually from home). We will also post on SharePoint and Cadet365. Special thanks again to Lt(N) Paul Simas for his assistance with layout, and to CAP staff in several locations who have been sending us imagery and info over the past two weeks. Also, a big thank-you to our acting NMPO, regional UPARs and others – including, but not limited to, the command team, J-35, J-6, air ops team and chaplain – who have contributed much to our PA outputs and outcomes, including this newsletter. Our next newsletter (fall edition) is set for early-to-mid November, which will include coverage of the regional COs’ conference (18-19 Sep) and regional and local activities in Sep and Oct. Happy reading! Capt Mark Giles Public Affairs Officer Regional Cadet Support Unit (Central) Canadian Armed Forces
