We would like to wish all our Staff, Cadets, and their families a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Wednesday 18 December we had a wonderful turkey dinner with all the fixings. Our guest of honour was former Warrant Officer 1st Class and Squadron Commander of 608 Squadron (August 2013), Second-Lieutenant (2Lt) Connor Ahearn. He gave an inspirational speech to all the cadets to encourage them to go for their dreams and to never give up, no matter how hard it may seem.
2Lt Ahearn completed both the Glider and Power Pilot Scholarship Courses, offered to cadets during the summer months, before he officially aged out of the Cadet Program in August 2013. Only six days after completing his Power Pilot Scholarship, he was sworn in to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) as an Officer Cadet in the Royal Canadian Air Force through the Continuing Education Officer Training Plan (CEOTP). He has since completed his Basic training and is now based at CFB Trenton working toward becoming a transport pilot flying the C-130 Hercules.
Any cadets who have questions about the flying scholarships, cadets, or joining the CAF can email 2Lt Ahearn at firstname.lastname@example.org
