Here it is - the Long Weekend in MAY!!!!

Hopefully everyone is enjoying some R & R.

The Sunset Ceremony in Kingston at the Royal Military College was AWESOME!!!
I loved the SKY HAWKES demonstration!!

I have not been sending Newsletters for awhile as I
would prefer our Squadron information to be distributed
on our WEBSITE www.608dukes.com and on our Facebook
page.

I am interested in your opinion on Newsletters by e-mail vs website.

The website option encourages our DUKES to be responsible.
They should be checking the site prior to each training night
for important information regarding Training, Trips, Activities and
more.

I like and prefer this option for that very reason....to teach resposibility.

Please mark on your calendar:

1.    Monday May 20 5-7pm last year book/slide show team meeting to finish the slide show for the Annual Ceremonial Review.
2.    Monday May 20 5-7pm athletic team a- chance to perfect your routine.
3.    Wednesday May 22 6-9 Regular (IMPORTANT) Training Night Athletic Team / Drumline / Drill Team will demonstrate-some promotions
4.    Friday May 23 (PA Day) 3-5 Band Practice- Athletic Team/Drill Team/Yearbook Team may also use this time to finialize details.
5.    Friday May 23 (PA Day) 5pm Pizza night for Band/Drill Team/Yearbook Team/Athletic Team members. Members must sign up for this event so I know how much pizza to order.
6.    SATURDAY MAY 25TH *****608 Duke of Edinburgh Annual Ceremonial Review 2pm*****
Guests must arrive NLT 1:30
Guests may need to park a fair distance away-be prepared for this
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE check the website for more information regarding this IMPORTANT event.
Cadets will be required much earlier(10am) to set up, go to DQ for lunch (tradition)(cadet pays) and then change into their uniform.
Cadets form up at 1:30 and MARCH ON at 1:45

7.    Sunday May 26 NOTHING!!!!!!
8.    Wednesday May 29 6-9 regular training night
9.    Friday May 31 - Advanced Party to set up FTX
10.    Saturday, Sunday June 1-2 Spring FTX at Presquile Provincial Park-info will be posted on the website Monday evening.

Events coming in June
1.    Bowling $10.00 for shoes and games
2.    Canada's Wonderland - June 8th
3.    End of year Bar-b-que / Summer Camp Parent-Cadet Info night
