WEDNESDAY 7 NOVEMBER 2012

5/11/2012

  • TRAINING

Wednesday 7 November will be a CO's Parade.
  1. Dress of the night is C-1 (Ceremonial) Dress.
  2. All cadets should ensure their uniforms are prepared properly (ex. ironed, polished, badges sewed on, etc.).
  3. Due to unforeseen circumstances, any cadet who had their photo taken in the past couple of weeks, will need to have their picture retaken.

  • SUPPLY

Any cadets waiting for a uniform please be patient as the parts are on order and should arrive soon!

ALL cadets are reminded that the Grey Wool Socks issued with the uniform are a part of the uniform, and are to be worn with the uniform! Should a cadet find the socks too itchy to wear, they can wear white socks underneath the grey wool socks. If cadets are allergic to the wool socks, they may wear black socks. The only colour sock that should be visible is Grey (issued wool), or Black. Spot checks will be conducted to ensure proper dress policies are being followed.

  • ADMINISTRATION

REMINDER: Every Training Night is MANDATORY attendance. If a cadet cannot attend, for a valid reason, the cadet MUST follow the instructions on the Attendance Notification page.

  • OTHER

   1.   OPC TICKETS.
The Air Cadet League - Ontario Provincial Committee has issued our annual lottery tickets. Our squadron has many books of these tickets which MUST be sold. We are asking each cadet to pay for 1 book of tickets ($50.00) upfront. The cadet then sells the tickets to friends and family, making back the $50.00. Once sold, the completed ticket stubs are then returned to the Squadron. Please pick up your book as soon as possible either from CV Vincent or Capt Dixon!

   2.   AFGHANISTAN REPATRIATION MEMORIAL CEREMONY
There will be a Ceremony  to dedicate the new Afghan Repatriation Memorial  which was built to commemorate our Canadian soldiers – the men and women who have sacrificed their lives in the war in Afghanistan.
The ceremony will be held at Bain Park in Trenton (corner of Hwy 2 and RCAF Road) starting at 1300hrs (meet at the site for 1230hrs). Any interested Cadets should arrive in full uniform (with poppies) with parkas. The ceremony is open to any one who wants to attend.
* The Ceremony is expected to last approximately 2 hours. *If you would like to attend, please email Capt Dixon.

   3.    REMEMBRANCE DAY PARADE
Remembrance Day is this Sunday (11 November). THIS IS A MANDATORY EVENT!!! All cadets and staff are asked to meet at the Belleville Armouries for 0930hrs. Cadets are to dress in C-1 (Ceremonial) Dress. CF members should be in No. 1A (Medals Only) dress. The ceremony will take place at the Belleville cenotaph on station street. Parents and families are welcome to meet us at the cenotaph for the ceremony. The parade will then return to the armouries, and cadets will be dismissed between 1230hrs and 1300hrs. After dismissal, cadets are welcome to attend a small  luncheon-style gathering (with sandwiches and beverages) for cadets to be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 99, just down the road from the armouries.
